Love is not something you feel.
It's no secret that I have a pretty great husband.
This past Friday he took me out on a surprise date night. All he told me about it was that it would be outside, and that I should wear comfortable shoes. I had no idea what to expect, but I love surprises so happily went along not knowing.
When we arrived at a local Winery/Vineyard, I had assumed that we would be doing some wine tasting. Which was partially right.... I just had no idea that so much more would be following the tasting! The tasting was wonderful. We sampled 6 or 7 of the vineyards wines, and one port. All were excellent, but J and I agree'd that the CharddonayXGewurzt blend was our favourite.
As the tasting wrapped up, the proprietor led us out to the vineyard, where I was completely blown away to see the most perfect picnic all spread out! Blanket, cushions for reclining, a chilled basket full of food, and a bottle of wine. The setting, nestled right in-between two rows of grape vines, was stunning & so picturesque.
We were able to work our way slowly through the food and wine, as bees buzzed around us & dusk settled softly over the vineyard. We talked about our day, our marriage, and our plans for the rest of the summer. The whole evening was absolutely perfect, and I went home counting my many (endless) blessings.
I am so lucky to have such a kind, thoughtful, loving husband. A husband who is never afraid to show me, and the whole world, how much he loves me. A husband who spoils me rotten. A husband who respects me. A husband who is such a wonderful provider and hard worker. I am just so lucky.
